Sierra de La Sagra
Natural Park
This park is a stunning natural area known for its spectacular geography and biodiversity. Its highest point is Pico de La Sagra, with an altitude of 2,383 meters, making it one of the highest mountains in Andalusia.
Sierra de La Sagra is famous for its rich variety of flora and fauna, housing numerous endemic species. Its vegetation is composed of pine, holm oak, and juniper forests. On El Pinar de la Lobera rural estate there is a forest composed mainly of oaks and pines. It is estimated that the oaks are over 400 years old and the pines are more than 200 years old.
Among the fauna of the area it is possible to find species such as the golden eagle, wild boar, fallow deer, deer, mountain goat and various birds of prey.
Sierra de la Sagra Natural Park is ideal to experience firsthand one of the greatest spectacles that takes place every year, between September and October. The rut, where deer emit a peculiar roar in their desire to get the best females.
